Adelaide Royal Show 2011

This year's Adelaide Royal Show went well, it was great to see that we had more entrants than last year, however it would still be great to see even more entrants.

Judging was interesting this year with a non-side saddle riding judge. We do however plan to put together a set of criiteria/ hot tips which will be sent to the Royal Agricuktural Society to assist non-side saddle riding judges in future.

Thank you very much to Wendy Hunt as our judge this year, and also to all riders and everyone that came to watch our wonderful events, and we hope to see everyone back again next year to support side saddle riding.

As well as side saddle we also had a number of members compete in other sections in the Horses In Action competitions at the Adelaide Royal Show, these results can also be found below:

Jessica Marnie:

Good Hands Competition Championship for boys and girls 12 years and under. 6th

Girl rider, 10 years and under 12 years. 4th

Pony Hack, novice, over 13 hands and not exceeding 13.2 hands 4th

Pair of Pony Hacks or Show Hunters, not exceeding 14 hands (1422 mm). 5th

Maynard Family:

Obstacle Driving Competition. 1st

Cone Driving Competition 2nd

Ride and Drive. 4th

Harness Horse, galloway or pony pair. Equal 1st

Pleasure Harness Pony, over 12 hands and not exceeding 14 hands. 3rd

Rachael and Kate also competed in the Hunt Section 4's competition.

Emily Taylor:

Section 4s. 5th in the Strathalbyn Hunt Club Awesome 4some team.

Munroe Hardcastle:

Munroe was lucky enough to sit in the carriage with Jackie Boyd during her Turnout and Period Turnout classes in which they were very successful on the day.

I don't have all the events that everyone entered but well done to everyone!
